Special Adoption Promotions
$5 Feline Adoptions!!
During the week of Saturday, November 26 thru Saturday, December 3, 2011, we, supported by Best Friends Animal Society's No More Homeless Pets Network, will be holding a special event--$5 adoptions for any kitten/cat over 5 months of age. All of these great cats and kittens are already spay/neutered, have age appropriate vaccinations, tested for Feline Leukemia and FIV, and are microchipped. You can visit some of our cats at the Muncie PetSmart during their regular hours or you can click here to see some of our cats online. If none of those match your desired kitty, contact Teresa and she can help find you the purrfect cat! Click here for more info!

"Cat of the Month" We will highlight one terrific cat, often one that is harder to place for various reasons, that will have a special $30 adoption donation request instead of our normal $65. Right now, "Alfonzo" is our boy (pictured above)-- click here to check out his profile!!

"Senior Adopters for Adult Cats" We will adopt any adult cat (1 year old or older) in our foster program to anyone who is age 55 or older (normal application requirements apply) for a special $30 adoption donation request instead of our normal $65. Visit our cats at the Muncie (IN) PetSmart, check out our online listings at www.petfinder.com or www.adoptapet.com , or contact Teresa.
Our Wish List...
Many people want to know what types of things we need to have donated! Below is a list of things that always seem to be in short supply!
Kitty litter: Tidy Cat, Exquisicat, Fresh Step/ both clay and scoopable style
Food: Purina Cat and Kitten Chow and any type of canned food
Cleaning, Bedding, & Toy supplies: Paper towels, large bath towels and
cat beds (round, low, ring type), assorted kitty toys
Dog Houses: Used, good condition to be used as shelter for feral cat colonies or given to people who call us needing shelter for their dog
Cat Carriers: We always need cat carriers--ours tend to get misplaced! Used but in good condition are just fine!
Live Traps: Humane live traps are needed for our Catch, Alter, Release program for feral cats.
Gift Cards: from PetSmart, WalMart, Target, etc. are always great to buy supplies and materials that we need! Even gift cards from Hiatt Printing, Staples, etc. would be wonderful and help with other expenses!
These items can be dropped off at either Animal Medical Center (7901 W. Kilgore Ave., Yorktown 765-759-2206) or Boyce Animal Hospital (1505 W. Riggin Rd., Muncie 765-288-1877) or contact Teresa to arrange pick-up!
*We are asking everyone to save the weight circles from your Purina pet food bags! These include: Cat Chow, Kitten Chow, Dog Chow, Puppy Chow, Pro Plan, Purina One, and Kit and Kaboodle. The circle is near the top of the bag and it will say "Purina Weight Circle" on it. Please send these at any time to: Action for Animals, P. O. Box 835, Muncie, IN 47308.
*We also ask that you consider adopting one of our "hard to place" cats that are currently in our foster homes. These cats need a home that will provide them with a safe place to live. They are good companion cats for your other cat/dog, however, they are not really "people" cats. They are good in the house (using their litterboxes well) and would not be happy as outside barn cats. If you can give one of these cats a home, we would greatly appreciate it. They have been tested for feline leukemia/FIV, are current on vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered! Please contact Sharon for more information!
*We desparately need someone who has the time and experience to research and write grants applications so that we can obtain much needed funding for our programs. Please contact Teresa if you can assist.
Attention other rescue groups and shelters!
In July 2011, we began a relationship with Rescue Bank and have become an affiliate distribution point for donated pet food and supplies. If you are a 501(c)(3) not for profit rescue or shelter and would be interested in joining our ever-growing circle of participating groups, please click here...
Another way to donate...
You can buy a book about the care of dogs and cats, and Action for Animals, Inc. will receive $1 for each book purchased! Go to our Donate/Join Us page for more details!
